TALENT MANAGEMENT
People lie at the heart of every organization. It is through these individuals that the organization can accomplish its goals. Just like how there is a human resources department that manages the people of an organization, AIESEC Sydney has a portfolio called Talent Management that is in charge of the well being of its members.
The Talent Management portfolio acts as a support function in the organization for other portfolios and has two main tasks: 1) attracting and recruiting potential members and 2) developing, engaging and retaining current members. It is important to recruit the right members and to ensure that members are motivated and that their talents are utilized in the best way so that they can bring the organization closer to its vision.
It is the Talent Management portfolio’s role to train members in generic or specific skills for personal or professional development and to organize bonding and engaging events. Simply asking one to solely focus on work can be quite dry and boring, which is why AIESEC Sydney focuses on the importance of having a balance between work and fun. Furthermore, the role of this portfolio also includes planning and executing local committee meetings, engaging with AIESEC Sydney alumni to bring past and present members together and utilizing the human resources of the organization in the most efficient and beneficial way.
Essentially, this portfolio ensures that the organization is running smoothly and that members are working in a challenging yet motivating and fun environment.
AIESEC's vision is "peace and fulfilment of humakind's potential.
AIESEC is the world’s largest student-run organisation, run by youth - like you – who are passionate about global awareness and leadership. We want to enrich people’s lives through international experiences allowing them to make an impact on the world. This is achieved by sending exchange participants on our Go Global Programs. Exchange participants not only make a direct social impact, but they also develop as leaders of tomorrow.
I've met so many different people from diverse backgrounds whom I otherwise would not have met.
