MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

Being the ‘face’ of AIESEC, Marketing and Communications (MaC) serves to build brand awareness and presence around campus and manage its external stakeholders. As a portfolio, MaC has to clearly communicate the vision and purpose of AIESEC to its audience. Strategic marketing decisions impact other portfolios and the direction of AIESEC Sydney over the year. MaC cooperates and supports the functions of other portfolios in driving growth and results by making core functions more efficient.

There are three main areas of MaC:

1. Brand Awareness: This includes market research, market segmentation, advertising and benchmarking. MaC members must constantly monitor brand effectiveness in order to adjust marketing plans and strategies accordingly.

2. External Communication Pathways/ Social Media: There are many pathways of communication such as Youtube, Facebook, blogs, and Twitter that can be exploited to increase the prevalence of AIESEC on campus and on the web. All these components encompass proper public relations and media management.

3. Events: This includes campaigns and promotional events on and off campus launched to not only draw more expressions of interests for exchange, FLB, or member application, but to also increase our brand on campus overall.

Skills gained as a MaC member:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Drawing campaign proposals for events
• Leadership and teamwork experience with other members
• To objectively review and analyze marketing plans and strategies
• Practical marketing experience through development and strengthening of professional skills
• Ability to organize projects and better time management

... seeing people willingly sacrificing time and effort to develop potential of others just makes me feel hopeful.

AIESEC's vision is "peace and fulfilment of humakind's potential.

AIESEC is the world’s largest student-run organisation, run by youth - like you – who are passionate about global awareness and leadership. We want to enrich people’s lives through international experiences allowing them to make an impact on the world. This is achieved by sending exchange participants on our Go Global Programs. Exchange participants not only make a direct social impact, but they also develop as leaders of tomorrow.
