FOREIGN LANGUAGE BASICS
Formally known as the Second Language Acquisition Program (SLAP), FLB is a project run by AIESEC Sydney to provide students with an on-campus opportunity to learn commonplace business and workplace culture and mannerisms, as well as the basics of a language, through an innovative and hands on approach. These classes are taught by international university students volunteering through AIESEC under the FLB program.
Through the course, students are able to enjoy themselves while getting exposure to various aspects of another culture without needing to actually be there, and the teachers of the classes, simultaneously, are able to experience Australian culture through their interaction with students inside and outside classes.
MISSION STATEMENT
With FLB we hope to establish an extra-curricular learning program at the University of Sydney campus, enriching student life and increasing general and business cultural awareness, while providing an affordable and quality firsthand teaching program. The classes will be small, allowing for a large amount of direct interaction with the teachers, who live and breathe their language and are passionate about teaching and learning the Australian culture. Cultural events such as movie viewings, multilingual scavenger hunts etc. will complement the language classes, thus producing a well-rounded cultural, fun and educational program.
